And The Winner Is ..........

WC Fields definitely knew what he was talking about when he advised against working with animals!! Dopey pusscats who'd rather be sleeping are a case in point!

This is take one!

Nope - too soon after breakfast! We'll return after he's had a nice nap. I learnt that teasing from Janet!!

I've been feverishly moulding and carving and marking to try and turn all your wonderful ideas into beads, in an attempt to get them fired tomorrow. Apologies for the cruddy picture. The purply browny ones will end up black after firing.

That funny looking thing with flippers is my attempt at a response to Fanci saying I couldn't create the evolution of the human race!! It's a mudskipper, but as the question of whether we all evolved from this little fella is one of enormous contention - I'll just leave it there!

On the subject of beads, did you see the latest yumtious pics that Fanci took of the stuff I sent her?

AND, she made this little beauty using some of my stuff as well!!

                                                                  What a honey!!

Now, shall I annoy you further with some pictures of running water, or leave that pleasure till next time, and just get on with the show?

I can't do it to you, so here's your dozy, and rather addled looking judge, kind of picking the winner to the sound of 10CC's Good Morning Judge - eh, eh - admit it, you're impressed!!

video

Gripping viewing, eh?!!! As a film star, he makes a great bricklayer! My talents as a film-maker leave a fair bit to be desired as well! - And WHO is that squeaky voiced, cockney bint talking over it???

Congratulations LuAnn!!!!!!!

It was a good job, I started making those bead ideas early, because there were loads of them! Haven't you done well??!!!
So, as well as the original selection -

You also get - A pair of bats, a frog, some meteorites and little boulders, a pair of fangs, a tiki, a toe and a finger, a feather, a buddha, a sun and moon, a couple of whales and an owlish creature!!

To ease Lela and Alice of their glass and shell longing, I'm offering them some of my hoard of beach treasure as runners up. Easiest to convo me at the shop with your addresses I would think.

Thank you
to all of you for taking the time to comment and join in with my bit of silliness. It's been really lovely to meet you over here, and I hope you drop in from time to time to see what I'm up to.

Oh, and welcome to Rosie from Eclectic Tea.

    1. Where's your face gone, Janet??
No, I think you're mistaken - I have no idea who that high pitched chick is! I don't sound anything like as girly in real life.
      You're too sweet.

    1. Thank you, Miss LuAnn,
It's nice to get the appreciation I so rightly deserve. I thought my old Ma was very rude about my acting skills. She clearly doesn't understand my comedy timing, that's all.
Congratulations to you, however your offers of catnip appear to be empty ones. Sorry to split whiskers.

  8. *laughing* so much over here!!! Oh my god...that cat is cracking me up. I thought cats were supposed to jump around and bat at things with their paws. Hehe. Toooo funny!!!

Big congrats to LuAnn! Very Cool!!

You're so sweet to offer sending some of your beach treasures, but I shall not have you spending shipping on that. I'll be visiting a beach again soon & hope to find more of my own. ;)

OH & LOVE all the new pieces you've put together. You've been busy! Feathers, fishes, faces and other goodies! You're making me want to order clay now!!

    1. The days of him jumping anywhere are long gone - he's far too sedate for that kind of behaviour!
Well, it's entirely your choice Lela, but if you change your mind, just say the word. Thank you for your kind refusal though!! Ha ha.

Well yes - all the ideas that have come up through this compo are there for anyone to make use of, aren't they - so get those talented hands in some mud!!

    1. Ha ha - yeah, he's a willful creature, and all this fame is going to his head! He's been too flouncy for words! Glad you like the look of the tikis - one's a big lad on a slant. I'll do a couple in terracotta as well to see how they look.

  10. Apparently the catnip comment functioned. Congrats to LuAnn. How did she do that?
    I love mudskippers...

    1. Little did I realise how popular a creature the mudskipper is!!! I had been reading everyone's comments out to the whiskery lad, so perhaps her offers of catnip had got through to his little brain on some level!!

  12. Petra,

I have been drooling over your gorgeous work on fanci's and janet's blog. Your creative output is so addicting for me to watch. I love the sense of irony, beauty, humor, and detail you put into your clay pieces. Thank you so much for adding me to your member's corner, I am humbled my friend. I am going to be frequently stalking your etsy shop. xox!

  14. Petra and Mackie,

Thank you...Thank you...Thank you!!! I was home sick from work today and when my husband came home with the mail he said, "Here, this should cheer you up."
He wasn't kidding!!! All I can say is OH MY GOD!!! As I opened the package and kept opening and opening and opening.....I could not believe all the treasures! I'm still giggling about the pig snout, toe and finger! I LOVE THEM ALL!!! As I unwrapped each treasure my mind was reeling about what I could create with these lovely treasures. The dish is gorgeous and will have a special place on my dresser along side all the other gifts from my special friends. Petra you definitely out did yourself!!! I never expected all this! Your packaging and note is so cute! I hope I will be able to send all this heartfelt gushing soon as one of my cats, Jake aka Stitch, is flopped on his back between the keyboard and monitor looking for belly rubs as he feels feels he never gets enough attention!!!

Again, thank you so very much to you and Sir Mack,

    XOXOXOXOXOXO LuAnn

  15. I'm SOOOO relieved that it's arrived - dear me, this post is rather slow.
Awwww, you're so sweet, and i'm thrilled that you're pleased with it all.
Ha ha, Mackie is currently wedged between two hot radiators, toasting his brains!
I hope you have fun creating some lovely pieces with my oddities - and that you're feeling better now.
